Meet Traci

My name is Traci Macfarlane, I am 43, I live in midtown Toronto. I opened an organic salon and spa 5 years ago, I have been a hairstylist for 20 years. Over the last few years, I’ve become more proactive in my life, I’ve made some big decisions and become a leader in my own life.

What would you say has been the biggest shift in your life since turning 40?

Taking control of my life, trusting myself, and believing in myself.

When do you feel you are most powerful?

I feel most powerful when I’m really being in the moment, clear and present.

What are the top three most important things to you right now?

A healthy mind, body, and spirit. I also have high regard for nature and our environment.

How do you make sure your actions are aligned with what’s most important to you?

Being positive, being present, being kind, feeding my mind/body/soul with goodness. I make sure my business reflects how important nature and the environment are to me by making sure that our services are the cleanest and safest available and that our space is free of toxins and chemicals. I research all of our lines to make sure that clients have a selection of green and clean beauty lines to choose from. I support local beauty lines as often as possible. I’m a huge believer in minimizing the chemicals in our products/foods because they are everywhere! Just because it’s on the shelves doesn’t mean it’s safe to use.

What seeds are you planting today for the future?

Meditation, learning, reading, researching, saving, physical health, eating plant-based, whole foods, and nourishing my body and mind. I believe taking care of my health goes beyond going to the gym and meditating, it also means being aware of what I am putting in and on my body.

What advice would you give someone who is interested in redesigning midlife?

Does your purpose have a positive effect on those around you? If not, maybe it’s time to think about what really makes YOU happy, and how you can contribute in a positive way.

How can people connect with you and your work?

You can book an appointment with me or my team at Thair.
