Meet Meri

My name is Meri Frischman and I’m a native New Yorker. Throughout my fifties, I was a fitness and wellness coach working with midlife and beyond women. Two years ago at 65, my life changed because of a health issue. This ended up being the stimulus that moved me toward my next journey…creating my Instagram page @theproagewoman. My goal is to inspire women to age with positivity, realizing the challenges while moving through them toward growth and fulfillment.

What would you say has been the biggest shift in your life since turning 40 (or 50)?

The biggest shift in my life at age 60 was this. I began moving through fear rather than letting it stop me. I started not caring about what others think and this has been very freeing. I also learned to follow my true gut instincts rather than dismiss them.

When do you feel you are most powerful?

I am most powerful when I am surrounded by the support of my loved ones and friends. Also, I’m powerful when I complete the tasks that move my passions forward…sharing ideas and thoughts with others also empowers me.

What are the top three most important things to you right now?

My son, my fiancé and my friends. After that, it’s my work building this community of like-minded, fabulous pro-aging women.

How do you make sure your actions are aligned with what’s most important to you?

I check in with my gut and how it’s feeling. It’s really true that if you follow your instincts it takes you towards fulfillment.

What seeds are you planting today for the future?

I am planting seeds toward furthering the pro-age evolution and bringing it into real life rather than solely on social media.

What advice would you give someone who is interested in redesigning midlife?

Remember your passions and aspirations and bring them to life. Take time for you and nurture your soul.

How can people connect with you and your work?

People can connect with me on Instagram @theproagewoman, or my blog, The Pro-Age Woman. I’d love to hear from everyone.

Welcome to my Power Profiles series

Here I introduce you to powerful midlife role models in our community. May these stories inspire you, motivate you, and show you what is possible.
