Introducing Yolanda

Yolanda McAdam is a social media and online marketing strategist and business coach who helps business owners attract and win a consistent flow of quality clients.

Her background is in corporate training and coaching and she’s been doing that for over two decades. Yolanda lives in Edmonton, Alberta with her husband and their youngest son. They enjoy cooking, hiking and walking, and spontaneous road trips. She is 48 years old.

What would you say has been the biggest shift in your life since turning 40?

It took me a really long time to learn to say NO and mean it. It’s now my favourite word and paradoxically so is YES. Because when you start to say no to some things you inevitably end up saying yes to other things.

Also, life’s too short to spend it hanging out with people who diminish your light or deplete you. I choose to surround myself with growers and encouragers.

When do you feel you are most powerful?

I am most powerful when I am living my values of truth, authenticity, honesty, faith, love, and service. All of these help me be a catalyst for change for my clients who expect honest feedback, empathy, and leadership.

What are the top 3 most important things to you right now?

My family, my wellbeing, and my clients.

How do you make sure your actions are aligned with what’s most important to you?

By living my values. If something doesn’t align for me then I don’t do it. I had a nervous breakdown in my mid-thirties and it turned out to be a breakthrough, not a breakdown. It forced me to slow down and take stock of what really matters.

What seeds are you planting today for the future?

I love making new connections and building genuine relationships both online and offline. I like to think I am planting seeds of friendship, generosity, and love.

What advice would you give someone who is interested in redesigning midlife?

I know this sounds trite but it’s the truth: You’re never too old and it’s never too late to start creating the life of your dreams.

How can people connect with you and your work?

They can connect with me via my website or follow me on Instagram.
